Raai Laxmi has been drawing flak for her ultra glamorous role in the movie. South Indian diva Raai Laxmi, who made her Bollywood debut with the recently released erotic thriller Julie 2 has been drawing flak ever since the trailer of the movie was released. She went a step further to defend her ultra glamorous role in the movie.
The actress said that her decision to act in Julie 2 was bold as she played the title character by going beyond the limits of modesty and that she wasn't embarrassed at all.
She also added that there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of a woman’s body and being glamorous doesn’t mean to bare it all in front of the camera.
Raai had courted controversy when she opened up about acting in a particular scene in the movie which made her extremely uncomfortable.
In one of the scenes Raai’s character is forced to sleep with someone whom she dislikes, and the actress had earlier told the media the scene very difficult for her to enact.
Julie 2 is the sequel to the Neha Dhupia starrer erotic thriller Julie. The second version is all about the travails of a small town girl who makes it big in movies.
Director Deepak Shivdasani has written the story and screenplay of the movie while the music is by Viju Shah. Julie 2 is certified ‘A’ by the censor board.
