Two presenters at the popular Tamil channel, Sun Music, landed themselves in soup after allegedly making fun of Kollywood superstar Suriya’s short stature.
The controversy was triggered by two female anchors at the channel who said that Suriya would need a stool to stand beside Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan and should get himself a pair of high-heeled shoes to be paired with actress Anushka Shetty.
The presenters allegedly made the comments while discussing Suriya’s upcoming movie directed by KV Anand. The enraged fans of the actor has since demanded an apology from both the presenters and the channel.
Many from film fraternity and Suriya’s countless well-wishers criticized the comments made by the channel presenters and a barrage of fiery comments flooded social media. The actor’s fans even staged a protest in front of Sun Music’s office.
However, Suriya in a display of his characteristic magnanimity, sent a word of advice to admirers who organized protest meets in front of the channel’s office.
The Thaanaa Serndha Koottam actor said that they shouldn’t have reacted in such a lowly manner to absurd comments or criticisms.
He urged his fans to utilize their valuable time for other useful activities which could be helpful to the society. Suriya posted the comments with the hash tag ‘AnbaanaFans’(beloved fans).
