The actor was impressed by the youngsters’ dedication and courage to accept the period drama.
Mahanadi, a trilingual film in Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil based on the life of yesteryear actress Savithri, has Keerthy Suresh essaying the role of the legendary actress. Malayali heart throb Dulquer Salman plays the role of Tamil superstar Gemini Ganesan. Meanwhile Prakash Raj dons the role of Chakrapani, a Telugu film producer, in the movie.
“Mahanadi is an excellent biopic. I have great respect for Dulquer and Keerthy who try to learn more about the cinema of the past.
It indeed is a great thing to know about their attitudes, the relationship that they shared, their personal choices and so on. So I congratulate Dulquer and Keerthy for choosing such challenging roles in their career,” said the award winning actor.
Mahanadi will be released in Tamil as Nadikar Thilakam. The movie will hit the theaters on 9 May. South Indian diva Samantha and Telugu actor Vijay Devarakonda will also be making cameo appearances in Mahanadi.
