We often imagine a film director to be the one who handles an entire film unit, sitting in a chair and shouting action and cut at appropriate intervals.
But here’s a film-maker who doesn't have the airs of a director and freely mingles with his entire crew.
He doesn’t even mind taking up a painting job on the location or sticking the posters of his movie. Sreejith Vijayan, the director of Kunchacko Boban-starrer Kuttanadan Marpappa, is truly passionate about his craft.
Meanwhile, a picture of the young film-maker in which he is seen painting a wall on the movie’s location, shared by a person named Ajith Somanathan is becoming viral on the social media.
Sharing the picture on his Facebook page, Ajith wrote that he had taken the picture at the location of Kuttanadan Marpappa and the person seen painting was not an employee at the art department, but the director of the movie himself.
“The dream of a debut director, whose job was not to just shout ‘Action’ and ‘Cut’ sitting comfortably on a chair but to work sincerely on almost all departments of his movie, will hit the screens soon. We even have in front of our eyes, film-maker Gafoor Elliyas, who had to paste the posters of his movie Pareeth Pandari all by himself. However, Sreejith’s movie shouldn’t have the fate of those countless movies which were declared excellent, only after its CDs got released,” wrote Ajith Somanathan.
He concluded his Facebook post by saying that the audience should write the fate of Kuttanadan Marpappa at the theaters itself.
The film starring Kunchacko Boban, Aditi Ravi and Shanti Krishna in the lead roles released on 29th March.
Haseeb Haneef, Noushad Alathoor and Aji Medayil have jointly produced Kuttanadan Marpappa under the banner of Malayalam Movie Makers and Grande Film Corporation. Kuchacko Boban essays the role of John who is a new generation photographer in the movie.
