The Internet is currently going gaga over the romantic song re-mixed by hit-maker Shaan Rahman and rendered beautifully by Vineeth Sreenivasan from the movie Oru Adar Love. But in the visuals of the song, gone viral on social media, a band is seen singing the song at a function in a school. Meet Chumadu Thangi, the Thiruvananthapuram-based musical band which has conquered the hearts of millions.
It was the Chumaduthangi band which introduced the mappila song penned by Thalassery K Rafeeq to the music lovers of the University College in Thiruvananthapuram.
Director Omar Lulu had invited the Chumaduthangi band to his movie after falling in love with their version of the song. The members of the band are ‘chumaduthangi’ (wayside stone structures on which heavy loads could be placed for a while during travel in olden days) in real life too as they contribute a share of their remuneration for charity.
The Chumaduthangi band started by Jishnu, Akshay Gireesh and Safeer Jabbar presently has nine members including Sangeeth Vijayan. Their song is currently trending as number one on YouTube and more than 20 lakh viewers have already watched the song.
The Chumaduthangi band hopes to continue their musical journey by entertaining their fans with more such beautiful songs and to pursue new heights in movies as well.
