The Latin Americans have dished out an attractive brand of football so far in the competition. They topped Group D, also comprising European champions Spain, with an all-win record. The Carlos Amadeu-coached side returns to Kochi after playing their final group fixture away in Goa.
Central American challengers Honduras have made it to the knockout phase as one of the four best third-placed teams. They finished behind France and Japan in Group E. Honduras, who were hammered 6-1 by Japan, scored a vital 5-0 win over the lowly New Caledonia before being outclassed 5-1 by France in their final group game.
The Honduras backline has been shaky to say the least and the Brazilian forwards Lincoln, Paulinho and Brenner are likely to have a field day. Lincoln has scored in each of Brazil's group games and will be keen to add to his tally of three goals. Midfielders Alan and captain Vitinho have been excellent and it will be a stiff challenge for the Honduras defenders to keep them at bay.
Poor finishing
One thing which could worry the Brazilian team management is the fact that they have scored only six goals in their campaign despite creating numerous opportunities. But big teams are known to get their act together in the knockout stage.
The Brazilians have been a huge hit with the Kochi crowd and with Wednesday being a holiday owing to Diwali, plenty of fireworks can be expected from the Samba Boys. The match kicks off at 8 pm.
A quarterfinal clash with Germany awaits the winners and it is tough to look beyond Brazil at this stage. Honduras, though, will be hoping to put their best foot forward and fight all the way.
