Kalabhavan Mani's 'Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum' at IFFI today 'Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum' is being screened at IFFI to honor late actor Kalabhavan Mani.

Panaji: Around 40 films in various categories will be featured at on the second day of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) here Monday.

A repeat of opening film Afterimage by Andrej Wajda, Malaria (Iran) by Parviz Shahbazi, I Am Your Father (Spain) by Toni Bestard and The Ornithologist by Joao Pedro Rodrigues are some of notable films to be screened Monday.

Late Iranian master filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami's The Wind Will Carry Us is also slated for screening Monday.

Indian Panorama section will be inaugurated Monday with the screening of Malayali director G. Prabha's Sanskrit film Ishti. Set in mid 20th century Kerala, the film discusses the social reforms within brahmin community of that times. Veteran actor Nedumudi Venu plays a key role in the film.

Screening of Tunnel by South Korean filmmaker Seong-hoon Kim will mark the opening of the country in focus section. Republic of Korea is the country in focus this year.

Late Malayalam actor Kalabhavan Mani will be paid a homage through the screening of his 1999 hit Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum directed by Vinayan.

A master class on writing and direction by Croatian director Rajko Grlic is a major event of the day.
