New Delhi: Google launched two new initiatives to target enterprises and start-ups with its new improved cloud and apps for work platforms.

Under the two initiatives, Google will offer 1,000 start-ups with up to $20,000 each in India.

The other initiative, under which the search giant is offering to waive off all fees for Google Apps for current enterprise customers till time of contract expiry, claims to help legacy enterprises to adapt easily to the new cloud and apps for work platforms.

"There is cost and time added to changing platforms in an enterprise and hence our initiative will help enterprises understand the power of these platforms and switch over to them," Amit Singh, president, Google for Work, said.

The other initiative will also offer current customers at the time of expiry of contract a new simplified contract with no additional charges which Google claims will help the company make a saving of up to 70 percent.

"According to Forrester Research adapting Google platforms can benefit the company by savings of $1,708 per person," Singh said.

Google also said it was continuously improving these platforms with additions of advanced machine learning programmes.

"Although we are not ready to share the number of Indian businesses but large legacy enterprises like JSW, Jindal Steel, Hero MotoCorp, Royal Enfield and nearly 80 percent of Indian start-ups are already using our platforms," Singh added.

The company said it was continuously improving these platforms with additions of advanced machine learning programmes.
