Thiruvananthapuram: Toddy will be made available at star hotels as per arrangement with toddy shop licensees.
Toddy shops will be classified into groups of five to seven and permission will be granted according to existing terms. An individual cannot run more than two groups and workers' cooperatives will get priority.
Toddy shops are allotted once in three years. If no one comes forward, shops will be handed over to workers' cooperatives or committees on rent, while the annual rent will remain unchanged.
Number of tapping trees will remain the same for each shop. Defaulters of welfare fund payment will not be granted fresh license.
Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has made it clear that liquor will have to sold at the price fixed by the government.
The chief minister also said that the government will constitute a Toddy Board and ensure quality and workers' welfare.
