Kochi: Actor Salim Kumar has apologized for his comments on the developments in a case related to the attack on an actress near Kochi in February. He said his post on Facebook on Sunday was offensive and anti-woman.
"I noted in a post on Sunday that the actress who was the victim in the case should be subjected to a lie-detector test but I understand that the comment was most offensive and anti-woman. I apologize to the actress, her family and the public. I withdraw the comment from the post," he wrote.
Salim Kumar had come out in support of actor Dileep, whose name cropped in recent reports related to the case. He said that the media were playing the "climax reels" of a script written seven years ago to tarnish Dileep's life.
He also lambasted the film artistes' associations for not standing up to the actor.
