Pulsar Suni attempted to kidnap another actress two years ago? ADGP seeks report Pulsar Suni, the main accused in the actress attack case. File photo: Onmanorama

Kochi: Actress attack case prime accused Pulsar Suni seems to be enchanted by the self-developed art of throwing hints. In his characteristic style, he said 'influential people' were behind the heinous crime.

"Big sharks are yet to fall in the police net," Suni told reporters as he was taken to an Angamaly court under a drawn-up police cordon.

Suni was produced before the court Tuesday with his remand period coming to an end. Advocate B.A. Aloor said he would not move a bail application for Suni as the latter faced threats outside the jail. His remand period was extended till July 18.

The court witnessed dramatic scenes as two lawyers turned up for Suni. The judge sought Suni's opinion and he chose Aloor.

Pulsar Suni, arrested soon after the crime, had alleged a conspiracy behind the incident. Though rumors were rife that a crucial arrest would be made on Monday, the police could not gather enough evidence to take action, sources said.

Another case?

The Kerala police team probing the actress attack case will also investigate a previous complaint against Pulsar Suni. Additional director-general of police B. Sandhya had asked officers to submit the file pertaining to an attempt to kidnap another young actress involving the accused.

Neither was a case registered on the complaint nor a proper investigation carried out. The police were looking into the two-year-old complaint even as the conspiracy theory behind the sensational actress attack case of February 17 gains more weight. The actress was waylaid, abducted and allegedly molested by a gang in the car, when she was returning from her workplace. The special investigation team is headed by inspector-general of police Dinendra Kashyap. Sandhya is the supervising officer.
