Kottayam: ‘Pulsar’ Suni has earned the moniker. The man accused of waylaying and assaulting a Malayalam actress can’t live without the performance motorcycle from Bajaj Auto.
The criminal was already wanted in connection with a highway robbery in Kottayam when he operated the audacious attack on the actress near Angamaly in February. He is accused of robbing Rs 4 lakh from a trader on May 6, 2014.
The case proved Suni’s love for Pulsar. His assignment was to stop an inter-state KSRTC bus and pepper-spray the target who was returning after selling gold to a jeweler in Pala.
Two days before the operation, Suni did a trial run on a Karizma motorcycle that was stolen from Aluva. However, he insisted on a Pulsar to compete the mission. One of the gang members stole a Pulsar for Suni.
The contented criminal mugged the agent at Kidangoor and made away with the cash. He has been named as the seventh accused in the case. His co-accused are dreaded criminals too.
The police later seized the two stolen bikes. Suni had even spent a fortune for modifying the stolen Pulsar, the police said.
Suni, whose actual name is Sunil Kumar, was arrested by the police in Kochi a week after the attack on the actress. As first accused, he gave away hints of a larger conspiracy behind the attack, leading to the arrest of actor Dileep.
The popular actor was arrested on Monday and slapped with serious charges including criminal conspiracy and gang rape. The police said that Dileep and Suni had been plotting an attack on the actress since 2013.
Suni has tried to abduct at least three actresses earlier, benefiting from his access to the celebrity circle. The police even suspect that he has connections to a Dubai-based human trafficking racket.
