Kochi/Ottapalam: Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan has lodged an FIR against a woman from Ottappalam in Palakkad district for threatening him as part of a ploy to extort money. The police have registered a case against the woman who had allegedly approached the actor with a screenplay.
According to the cops, the woman wanted to read out the screenplay to the actor in August. However, the actor told her that he was ready to give her an appointment if she has the full script ready.
The woman again met the actor on August 23 at his rented house at Edapally. But Unni Mukundan reportedly refused to give her an appointment as she had not completed the script.
Later, the woman allegedly called Unni Mukundan and asked him whether he would act in films only after hearing the script. She also threatened him that she would file a rape case against him.
The actor alleged in his petition that a man introduced himself as an advocate called the actor as per the instructions of the woman. The so-called lawyer demanded that the actor should either marry the woman or give her Rs 25 lakh or a car worth Rs 20 lakh.
The actor first filed the case at Ottappalam and it was later shifted to Cheranelloor police station. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered under Sections 385, 506 and 34 of the IPC.
