Kochi: The Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate on Saturday recorded the statement of a woman who had filed a complaint against actor Unni Mukundan.
The woman had earlier alleged a rape attempt by the young actor and had sought police protection. She had also sought cancellation of the bail granted to the actor.
Unni Mukundan had rejected her complaint as fake.
Since the woman stayed away from the court at the previous hearing citing a threat from Unni Mukundan, the Ernakulam Judicial First Class magistrate decided to hear her confidentially.
On Saturday, she appeared in person and her statement was recorded in a closed court room where only lawyers were allowed.
The hearing will continue on February 24.
The woman, in her complaint, had said that Unni Mukundan tried to rape her when she went to his flat in Edappally for a discussion on a movie project. However, he alleges that she cooked up the allegation in a bid to trap him in a fake case, destroy his reputation, and extract some money from him.
