Kollam: At least nine people were injured as a stage under construction on the premises of the Puttingal Devi temple at Paravur collapsed on Monday.
Three of them, who have been severely injured, were admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. Two people were admitted to Parippally Medical College Hospital and four to Nedungolam Taluk Hospital.
The roof of the stage collapsed after most of the workers had left the structure under construction. There were more than 50 laborers at the site in the morning.
The search is on to find if more people were buried under the debris.
The temple witnessed one of the most horrendous tragedy when a blast during the pyrotechnics display, as part of the annual festival, killed over 100 people and injured hundreds of others in 2016.
