Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan greets Kamal Haasan at the Cliff House. File photoMadurai: Veteran Tamil actor Kamal Haasan's admiration for Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan came to the fore once again during the launch of his political party, Makkal Needhi Maiyam here on Wednesday.
Kamal mentioned Pinarayi as one of his favorite leaders during an interactive session during the party launch.
Kamal mentioned great leaders like Gandhi and Nehru and his contemporaries AAP chief and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and Pinarayi in reply to a question on his favorite leaders. Former US president Barack Obama and Andhra chief minister Chandrababu Naidu also found place in his favorites' list. The list, in a way, reflects the Left-centric ideology that Kamal seems to admire.
Earlier, Pinarayi addressed the gathering through video conferencing.
Wishing Haasan's initiative well, the Kerala chief minister expressed confidence that the actor's party would uphold values of secularism, democracy and pluralistic society.
The actor's entry will enrich the state's political arena, he said.
