Thiruvananthapuram: Almost a week after a woman tourist was reported missing from the Kerala capital, the police have not been able to trace the Latvian national.

However, the recovery of a body from Colachel in Kanyakumari on Wednesday triggered suspicion that the deceased could be 33-year-old Liga Skromane. However, her relatives have confirmed that it was not the missing woman.

The body, which was at least a week old, was found while the probe into the missing case was progressing. Cops took Liga's relatives to Colachel but they said it was not hers.

Kerala tourism minister Kadakampally Surendran has said all efforts would be made to trace the Latvian national.

The minister gave the assurance after talks with Liga's friends and relatives who had come to see him.
