He began his career in the film industry as a production executive which eventually paved his way to silver screen in 1983 with the PN Menon movie Asthram.
Vijayan had donned the role of supporting actor in many Malayalam films.
He had acted in more than 40 films and was mostly seen in the movies of Sathyan Anthikad and Lal Jose.
