Kerala cop, who 'did not act' against Ganesh Kumar, transferred Ganesh Kumar MLA assaulted a youth in public and grabbed his mother Sheena's hand

Kollam: A circle inspector of police (CI), who reportedly remained a passive witness when Ganesh Kumar, MLA, assaulted a youth in public and insulted his mother, has been transferred

Anchal CI Mohandas has been shifted to Ponkunnam. It was alleged that the CI did not intervene when the Pathanapuram MLA assaulted the youth.

However, police sources said that transfer order was issued earlier and as the new officer who had to take charge was on leave, Mohandas continued at the Anchal police station

The alleged incident happened when Ganesh Kumar was proceeding to meet a bereaved family and the 'victim' returning after visiting them on June 13. According to the complaint, the actor-turned-politician, got off his car and allegedly assaulted the youth as his vehicle could not move forward.

The police officer who was present during the incident reportedly did not make any move to stop the assault. Anandakrishnan, 20, who was injured in the assault and was admitted to a private hospital, filed a complaint with police against the MLA and his driver.

In a counter police complaint, a staff of the MLA alleged the youth assaulted the driver.
