Mahendra Singh Dhoni is known for his calm methods and does not show much emotions on the cricket field. But when he loses his cool, Dhoni can be a real terror as Manish Pandey found out during the second Twenty20 International against South Africa at Centurion on Wednesday.
Dhoni loves to sprint between the wickets and he has revealed many times in the past that stealing an extra run gives him a real high. Even at the age of 36, Dhoni is one of the fittest players in the current Indian team. Pandey looking at the fielder and losing out on a possible second run in the final over of the Indian innings upset Dhoni who vented his ire at the junior partner. Dhoni smashed the next two balls for a six and a four, and was soon back to his normal self as he laughed and punched the gloves of Pandey.
Dhoni took 17 runs off the final five balls bowled by Dane Paterson and his unbeaten 28-ball 52 along with Pandey's unbeaten 79 lifted India to 188/4. The duo added 98 runs for the unbroken fifth-wicket stand off just 56 deliveries. However, the Proteas chased down the target with eight balls to spare and leveled the three-match series 1-1.
