Fire & Rescue units from throughout Kerala are working round the clock to put out the toxic fumes.

Dr Renu told the court that the corporation had been warned before the fire incident. The warning was given due to rising temperatures, she said.
It further said a permanent solution was imperative to the whole issue and that a system had to be put in place wherein the waste can be disposed of at the source.
The District Collector has instructed the tehsildars to use as many excavators as possible from the district and bring vehicles from outside the district to Brahmapuram if necessary.
The district collector said no serious health issues due to the smoke have been reported yet. She advised those with lung diseases, children below 12 and pregnant women to be cautious.
