When the Palarivattom flyover in Kochi had developed a defect soon after its construction, experts from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, had carried out a study before the DMRC carried out renovation.
It was found during the study at the spot that the rock is situated 10 meter below marshy water and the bottom part of the piles is not reaching up to the rock.
A person who checks in at 7 pm could stay here till 8, next morning. One could even use this facility for catching some rest during the day time.
Along with free locker facility, each bed will have private space with reading light and phone charging point.
As per the promise made during the inauguration of the project, the commencement of the water metro service is already too delayed.
Bicycles that can be carried in a return bag will be considered as luggage, officials said.
The vehicle will stop only at the metro station and collectorate. At the moment auto feeder services are available from Vyttila metro station to 12 different routes.
