The luxury tax increase is mooted for the houses within 1 km along both sides of the Metro line from Aluva through SN junction, Thripunithura.
With the commencing of the services on the new stretch, the Aluva-Tripunithura Metro line would be fully operational and the total number of metro stations would increase to 24.
The rate will be applicable even for journeys from Aluva to Pettah.
