Mahindra & Mahindra is bringing to India the latest SUV from its South Korean partner Ssangyong. XUV 700 is Ssangyong Rexton for the Indian market. Rexton was not very well-received but Mahindra expects to find a market for the SUV in India under its own brand name. The SUV will be put in direct fight with Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. It will have the best in class facilities in the premium SUV category. At 4.85 length, 1.96 meter breadth and 1.8 meter height, XUV 700 will have more of a premium look than the existing Rexton. Powered by a 2.2 liter diesel engine, the car will come in automatic and manual versions. There will be five- and seven-seater models. With 181 bhp and 400 Nm torque, XUV 700 may be priced at up to Rs 5 lakh lower than its rivals.

Tata X451
