Bridge: simple and short but lofty in thought A still from the video

It could be a small concept put forward by a group of media students but delivers a grandiose message that has a universal appeal. Brilliantly scripted, short movie 'Bridge' directed by Jasrel L Thaddeus is a little over six minutes and is aesthetically captivating. The visuals are technically sound and closely follow the story line.

Filmed over seven days, the film was made for an entry into a competition 'screenscapes.'

The short movie went on to grab a place in the top 3 out of 63 films. It also bagged the best director award as well as a special jury mention of the rest of the crew.

The movie produced by Rajagiri Christu Jayanthi Public School was shot in the scenic locales of Kadambrayar in Kakkanad and gets close with nature. Even a bee, fly, cat and a goat do have a say on the screen.

Eric Zachariah as Kannan and Seema Raju as the mother present a remarkable performance. Most members of the crew were students of mass media.

The amazing part of the movie is that it ends while your curiosity is still in its prime. Although a slight mishmash of imagination and the reality and naivety in the delivery of dialogues do disturb a bit, the flow is maintained unflinchingly. It's definitely a short piece of art one would not mind giving a second visit.
