IV Sasi’s Burning Wells: The swansong that never was Sasi had announced that he was about to make a comeback with ‘Burning Wells’

Veteran director I V Sasi died without completing an epic movie that would have been a fitting swansong for the movie maker of the masses. Sasi had announced that he was about to make a comeback with Burning Wells, a 3D trilingual movie based on the Kuwait war of the 1990s.

I V Sasi and producer Sohan Roy had been working on the English-Hindi-Arabic project for three years. The script is almost complete.

“I was always in love with cinema,” Sasi wrote on his Facebook wall when he announced the project. “It was difficult for me to take such a long break from cinema but I wanted to do what I had in mind if I ever made a comeback. I had in mind a project based on the Kuwait war. We decided to make the movie in Hindi because such a large project would be impossible to do in Malayalam.”
