Chiyaan Vikram has signed his next project with Malayalam filmmaker RS Vimal, which would be a period drama in Hindi. The superstar announced this on his instagram by posting a selfie with the young director who is familiar to Mollywood through his debutante movie Ennu Ninte Moideen.
Vikram will play the role of Karna, a unique yet complex character in the Indian epic Mahabharata. Produced by United Film Kingdom, New York, the movie will mark Vikram's second eminent character in Bollywood after Raavan. The movie titled 'Mahavir Karna' is a multi lingual period drama being primarily shot in Hindi.
“The Sun rises and sets. Announcing Mahavir Karna, a hindi magnum opus. Starring Chiyaan Vikram. Director RS Vimal, producer United Film Kingdom, New York,” read Vikram's instagram update, on Sunday.
The production house, in their press release, revealed that Mahavir Karna would be a Rs 300 crore movie, slated for release in December 2019. “RS Vimal will don the director's cap with crème de la crème of technicians joining hands with him from across the globe. The movie will go on floors from October this year,” says the press release.
Sources say that the movie had Prithviraj as the title character. He was dropped for unknown reasons.
