Mega star Mammootty has a unique record to his credit - he bagged his third national award for the best actor for an English movie.
As his Tamil movie Peranbu is being acclaimed even internationally, his fans and peers in the film industry awaits yet another record to be written in his name.
Peranbu was recently screened at the prestigious International Film Festival of Rotterdam and the movie was widely appreciated by the viewers and critics alike. The critics are showering praises that Peranbu directed by national award winning filmmaker Ram will bring accolades for the Indian cinema at international arenas.
Actor Sarathkumar, who essayed a significant role in the movie, is all praise for Mammootty’s acing prowess. He said, “None other than Mammootty could have portrayed the character called ‘Amudham’ in Peranbu so well. When Ram told me the story, I had told him that choosing Mammootty for that role was the wisest decision. I am sure that it will be Mammootty who would bring home a national award for Tamil cinema this year.”
Ever since the world premiere of the movie, Peranbu is being showered with praises even by renowned international critics. Director Ram and producers RL Thenappan and J Sathishkumar are attending the Rotterdam film festival.
Peranbu has also found a place in the list of 20 movies to be watched at the film festival.
Tamil actress Anjali, child artist Baby Sadhana, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Kaniha, Sumuthirakani and transgender artist Anjali Ameer play significant roles in the movie.
Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music while the editing of the movie has been done by award winning editor Sreekar Prasad.
