Things took an ugly turn during the filming when some of the junior artists dressed in police uniforms started to really beating the actors with sticks. The filming of a Malayalam movie came to a standstill when a number of junior artists took their ‘roles’ seriously in Bengaluru.
The fiasco took place at the location of upcoming film B Tech starring Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali in lead roles.
The incident happened while the crew was filming one of the crucial scenes in the movie at the Freedom Park in the city.
The scene involved a group of students lead by the lead characters being caned by police personnel.
Around 300 junior artists from Karnataka were part of the scene. Things took an ugly turn during the filming when some of the junior artists dressed in police uniforms started to really beating the actors with sticks.
Besides Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali, actors like Aju Varghese, Saiju Kurup and Jafar Idukki were also present on the sets when the incident took place.
The junior artists were reportedly provoked when the lead actors lost their cool and started shouting at them. The language barrier made the matter worse. The makers had to suspend the shooting and the director reportedly rapped the Kannada junior artists accusing them of creating a bad scene at the location.
The enraged artists then vandalized the location and broke wind screens of vehicles parked at the shooting site. It is said that the police had to be finally called in to bring the situation under control.
