Malayalam actor Parvathy is in strong contention for the National Film award for the best actress, according to sources. Meanwhile Suraj Venjaramoodu and Indrans were in contention for the award for their roles in the film Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum and Alorukkam respectively in the early stage.
Parvathy is being merited for her intense role in the blockbuster Mahesh Narayanan film Take Off. Parvathy is said to have no competitor to give her a fight in the race for the best actress award.
In Take Off Parvathy essayed the character of a hapless nurse who gets trapped in a war unleashed by the ISIS in the strife-torn Middle East. She perfected the role of a struggling divorcee who is left with no choice other than taking destiny head on.
Malayalam films Take Off and Eeda are also in the race for the national award for the best film, accoroding to sources.

While for Suraj it will be his second national award for the best actor after his role in 'Perariyathavar' in 2013, it will be Parvathy's maiden feat if they both with the national award this time.
