Movie Urukku Satheeshan starring Santosh Pandit in the lead role will hit the theatres on June 1. As usual, the actor himself has written, produced, directed and acted in the movie besides doing the editing and music composition. In a Facebook post, Pandit wrote that he expects his latest movie to collect at least Rs 10 lakh from the theatres.
He wrote, “SSLC results are out, plus two results have come, the IPL is done and we even know the election result in Karnataka. Now, the one ‘result’ that the people of Kerala eagerly await is the release of my movie 'Urukku Satheeshan'. The censoring of 'Urukku Satheeshan', my 9th movie, is over and it will be released on June 1. I expect the movie to collects Rs 10 lakh (profit of Rs 5 lakh) and then I will be a happy man.”
The actor said that his latest is not a mass movie, and neither does it have any extraordinary shots or stunts as in a Telugu movie. He added that 'Urukku Satheeshan' is a realistic drama and a family entertainer, and unlike any ‘new-generation’ film, his movie doesn’t have any scenes portraying alcohol consumption, smoking, misogynistic dialogues or even double-meaning comedy.
“You can watch an amazing movie if you come without any expectation. I request everyone to watch this movie by keeping the stereotypical ideals of a hero and a heroine away from your minds. This movie does not belong to Santhosh Pandit, the star. But it indeed is the movie of Santhosh Pandit, the actor.”
As a footnote to his Facebook post, the prodigy promised in a sarcastic tone that he would return with a sequel Urukku 2 if his movie bombs at the box office. He said that the Malayalis would then watch the sequel and make it even a bigger hit than the superhit Jayasurya-starrer Aadu 2.
Urukku Satheeshan's trailer, which is packed with punch dialogues mouthed by Pandit and many action sequences, has already grabbed the attention of his fans on the social media. The 12-minute long trailer also features the songs that Pandit himself has penned, composed and sung. The genius claimed that the movie was made on a budget of Rs 5 lakh.
