The recent decision of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) to take back into its fold actor Dileep, who is embroiled in the 2017 actress attack case, has created a furore in the entertainment industry.
The latest one to open up on the issue is yesteryear actress Ranjini of 'Chitram' fame.
Ranjini slammed AMMA for its act that reeked of chauvinism. She wrote on Facebook, “It is time that the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) stopped using the sacred abbreviation! It is not only an insult to every female artistes but clearly shows the male chauvinism in the Malayalam movie industry! When there is an ongoing case, why is the association wanting to re-install Dileep? According to the objectives of AMMA: I don't see the association as arbitrators or protectors for actors! Shame.....where is the justice for our sister?” (sic.)
