Kochi: Under fire for its decision to revoke the expulsion of actor Dileep, the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), seems to be on the compromise mode.

A day after actors Revathy, Padmapriya and Parvathy wrote to the AMMA leadership asking for an emergency executive meeting, AMMA has agreed to arrange a meeting with the representative of the Women in Cinema Collective, which has made its protest against the decision to take back AMMA public.

The meeting will take place once actor Mohanlal, the president of the AMMA, returns to Kerala from London where he is working on a new film, Manorama News reported. Mohanlal is said to return by July 14.

The move to take back Dileep, facing trial in the actress attack case of February 17, 2017, drew flak from various corners. Four actors – Rima Kallingal, Remya Nambeeshan, Geetu Mohandas and the survivor of the attack -- resigned from AMMA following the decision.

While AMMA expressed solidarity with the attacked actress initially, the scenario took a turn after the association announced that it will take back Dileep as a member.
