Panaji: Curtains will come down on the 47th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), India's biggest movie extravaganza, here Monday in the presence of a galaxy of eminent filmmakers.

Popular Telugu director S.S. Rajamouli will be the chief guest at the function to be held at 4 pm at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee stadium at Taleigao on the outskirts of Panaji.

Only a few films have been scheduled for screening on the final day and the venues look almost empty with not many delegates choosing to stay back till the end of the event.

The closing film "The Age of Shadows" from South Korea will be screened at five theaters in the evening.

Directed by Kim Jee-woon, this thriller movie was selected as the South Korean entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards.

Awards will be announced and distributed at the closing ceremony.

The international competition section has 15 films from across the globe, including two films from the Indian Panorama section. 'Ishti' is a Sanskrit film directed by Keralite G. Prabha, set in the mid-20th century Kerala, where young Brahmins successfully challenge the orthodox, patriarchal traditions of their community.

and “Sahaj Paather Gappo” (Colours of Innocence), directed by Manas Mukul Pal, which reflects the travails of a family, are the Indian films in the competition section.

As many as 7,500 delegates registered for this year's IFFI of which 761 were from Kerala. However, the actual number of delegates who attended the event are yet to be known.

Earlier, officials had said only 4,000 delegates had collected the passes but the final figure is yet to be released.
