Keralite entrepreneurs selected for int'l startup event (from left) Sandeep S, Sangeet S and Jerric Lyns John.

Kochi: CatalanLabs is the only startup from India that would be pitching for their idea at an international startup event in Croatia (Eastern Europe) to be held on June 11 and 12.

Co-founded by three young Keralite entrepreneurs - Sandeep S, Sangeet S and Jerric Lyns John, CatalanLabs is a bootstrapped startup in the Wearables & IOT Sector. They would be pitching for their product - PortuSpine - a device that detects wrong body posture and lets the user know of it through haptic feedback.

The user is able to interact with the mobile app to track his spine health, understand the likelihood of back pain and take recourse.

“We are the only startup from Asia that would be participating at the Shift Conference and we would be pitching to eminent judges from Y-Combinator, Mashable, TechCrunch and 500 StartUps,” said Jerric, one of the co-founders.

“More than the prize money, we look at the event as a great opportunity to interact with entrepreneurs across the globe. We want to pitch our ideas and try to get some investment back home,” he explained.

IIM alumnus Sandeep would be representing CatalanLabs at the event.

Twenty Four startups from across the globe would be presenting their ideas at the Shift Conference that would have over 1,200 attendees and 20 international speakers.
