Was actress abduction aimed at obstructing her marriage? Pulsar Suni and Dileep

Kochi: The abduction of popular Malayalam actress here some months ago was reportedly aimed at obstructing her marriage. Police investigators are understood to have gathered clear information behind the motive of the abduction.

Sunil Kumar, alias Pulsar Suni, who was reportedly hired for the task, had planned to use the visuals harassing the actress for blackmailing and extorting money from her, after the abduction. Sunil is understood to have told investigators that the person who hired him had insisted that he should take visuals showing the actress in compromising positions and with her betrothal ring.

The police are trying to find out the motive behind those who hired Sunil and what gain he would have on obstructing her marriage. The police have concluded that they would get clear hints on interrogating actor Dileep and director Nadhirshah who had close contacts with the actress.

Earlier, when they were summoned for interrogation, the police did not have sufficient evidence to establish their role. Nadhirshah did not cooperate with the interrogation and Dileep made contradictory statements regarding his connection with Sunil Kumar. These had confused the police and forced them to interrogate the duo for 13 hours. The police had gathered evidence to establish the link between Dileep and Sunil Kumar from various sources.

Dileep's complaint against Sunil Kumar, of his attempt to threaten him, virtually turned the tables against the actor.

The reported rivalry of a number of people in the film industry is again confusing the police. The police are trying to solve riddles like whether more than one person was involved in engaging Sunil Kumar and also whether he had decided to extort money through blackmail.

The accused would be arrested only after solving these riddles, but it would not be delayed, sources said.
