Kochi: The Kerala police team probing the actress attack case has reportedly found more evidence against actor Dileep, an accused.
The prosecution is likely to submit the evidence to the Kerala HC Tuesday as the court takes up the actor's bail plea. The police have also got leads on the mobile phone used to shoot the harassment, Manorama News reported.
The prosecution would contend not to give bail till the phone, a crucial piece of evidence, is recovered. The prosecution also said that it would submit the charge sheet soon.
The Kerala HC had earlier rejected his bail plea, citing that there was prima facie evidence of his involvement in the case. However, the actor moved the court again earlier this month, stating that he was not the kingpin of any criminal conspiracy or even a participant in it. The petitioner also contended that he was not the perpetrator of any criminal offense.
"He is only the unfortunate victim of an orchestrated media campaign and proceedings of a group of police officers acting on the pre-conceived notion of guilt of the petitioner and wanting to implicate him as an accused," the petition had said.
The actor was arrested on July 10 for allegedly hiring goons to abduct the young woman and videotape the harassment on February 17. The police had arrested main accused Pulsar Suni six days after the crime.
