Kochi: Cameras craned and photographers vied each other, locating themselves at the most strategic locations, as actor Dileep performed the rites of his father at his Aluva home located across the famous Shiva temple. He had come home on a special permission from the Angamaly court that had granted him two hours to perform the rites on the Chathayam star in the Malayalam month of Chingam.
Dileep was taken back to the Aluva sub-jail, where he was being lodged, by 9.45 am as he needs to be back there by 10 am. Before returning, the actor had breakfast with his family after the rites were finished.
Dileep, who has been in custody for around two months now, was earlier taken to his house located just under 1.5 km away from the Aluva sub-jail under full security cover from July 10 onwards.
Dileep's wife Kavya Madhavan, daughter Meenakshi, his mother and other family members could be seen waiting for him as he arrived. Hundreds of people had gathered outside the sub-jail as well as the actor's residence with police escorting him to his house. Dileep walked into the house alone, and soon emerged in the traditional attire to perform the rites inside the home premises, around 8 am.
The police who are present at the venue in plain clothes had earlier asked Dileep's family to give a list of people attending the rituals.

The actor has been asked not to use mobile phone, to follow the investigating officer's directions, and not to misuse the court order.
Kerala police have tightened the security arrangements after an information that the actor's fan association would hold marches in the city. Aluva DySP has been given the charge.
The actor who was arrested on July 10 has spent close to two months in jail accused of conspiracy in the February 17 actress attack case. The remand period of the embattled actor Dileep has been extended till September 16.
The Kerala High Court had rejected the bail plea of the actor for a second time on August 29. Dismissing the bail petition, the court ruled that the investigation in the case was still progressing and there appeared to be no substantial change in circumstances since the previous bail plea.
The young actress was abducted and assaulted in a moving car in Kochi on the night of February 17. The police had arrested prime accused Pulsar Suni and his accomplices a week after the incident. Pulsar Suni eventually led the probe team to Dileep.
