Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala BJP chief Kummanam Rajasekharan on Saturday lashed out at governor P Sathasivam for not reining in the CPM workers who were allegedly unleashing violence in the state.
"Attacks by CPM men are becoming widespread. The law and order situation in the state is deteriorating. When the situation is getting out of control, the governor should not remain as a mere spectator," Kummanam said.
"The governor should use the power vested in him and take strong action. If not, we will be forced to look for other options,” Kummanam said and urged the Center to intervene in the issue.
Kerala has been witnessing political clashes between CPM and BJP workers during the recent past that claimed several lives. The BJP alleged that the Communist workers were unleashing violence and the police were not taking any action as the CPM-led LDF government was ruling the state.
In October, the BJP held a 'Jana Raksha' rally in which many national leaders, including BJP chief Amit Shah, had participated.
