Alappuzha: District collector T V Anupama said that she would check how a notice served on former minister Thomas Chandy’s resort contained the wrong survey number.
Earlier, the Kerala High Court had pulled up the district administration for the mistake on the document, which paved the way for Chandy’s resignation from the state cabinet. Anupama had reported that Chandy’s Lake Palace was guilty of illegal lake reclamation and land grab.
The collector said on Friday that the company was served a second notice after the first notice was found to have contained the wrong survey number. She added that she would inform the court of the second notice once she received the order.
She said that the mistake was a clerical error and she would launch an investigation into the matter if she smelled a rat.
The court canceled the order with the wrong survey number earlier on Friday. The court also pulled up the collector for issuing the notices with wrong survey numbers.
The court said that the collector did not verify the facts while preparing the notices. The company had moved the court seeking quashing of the notices.
