Colaba: A fire has been reported from the army building near Afghan Church in Colaba.
A civic official reported that fire broke out at a four-storey Army building in south Mumbai's Colaba area Saturday evening.
An official of the Disaster Management Cell of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said the fire started at 7 pm.
Four vehicles of the fire brigade were rushed to the spot, he said.
The fire has been confined to the second floor of the building according to the latest reports. Two rooms on this floor were reportedly gutted.
There are no reports of casualties but damage is being assessed.
The chief fire officer reported that there are no chances of the fire spreading and four lines have been employed for the cooling operations. He also said that breathing apparatus are being used to tackle the smoke.
