A yellow alert was declared in six districts including Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts on Tuesday.
While June recorded a 53 per cent drop in rainfall, the first nine days of July largely surpassed the shortage. July alone has received up to 30 cm of rain so far.
However, pre-scheduled examinations and interviews will take place as fixed.
A yellow alert was declared in 11 districts excluding Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta.
The Met Department also warned that the State is likely to witness heavy rainfall and thunderstorm with lightning in isolated places till Saturday.
Heavy (7- 11 cm in 24 hours) rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in Kerala till Wednesday.
Yellow alert has been declared in all the districts except in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.
Heavy rains are expected during the next three hours in five districts of Kerala.
Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts can expect isolated heavy rainfall in the day.
