Class 10 students who do not appear in offline exams will be evaluated based on an alternative assessment method.
As per the announced schedule ICSE exams are scheduled to be held from May 5.
It is likely that the Class-10 results will be determined by taking into account the internal assessment and practical exams. Students can also opt to take the exams once the COVID threat declines.
The developments came as the central government announced the cancellation of class 10 exams and the postponement of class 12 exams conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education.
The Class 12 exams will be held later after a review of the situation on 1st June by the Board.
CBSE and CISCE have said that adequate safety arrangements are being made for students and all COVID-19 guidelines will be followed during the exams.
The CBSE has also allowed schools to conduct practical exams in shifts, allowing up to three shifts in a day.
The CBSE Class 10 & 12 board exams will be held from May 4 to June 10.
As announced earlier the CBSE final-year examinations will be held in the pen-and-paper mode.
