Congress has intensified protest against the Kochi Corporation for failing to handle the waste crisis in the city.
LSGD Minister MB Rajesh said the state government aims to bring a 'visible change' to Kochi by World Environment Day on June 5.
A review meeting decided to stop local bodies, except Kochi Corporation, from taking bio-degradable waste to the Brahmapuram dump yard after April 30.
The court put the order on hold for eight weeks. However, it will continue to monitor the waste management issue plaguing Kochi.
The dump yard had witnessed a massive fire earlier this month that lasted nearly two weeks.
Anilkumar's response comes in the wake of a Rs 100 crore fine slapped by the National Green Tribunal for a massive fire at the waste dump yard.
Police patrol will also be stepped up in the area as part of the measures to prevent any untoward incident.
Zonta Infratech MD Rajkumar has claimed his firm never received Cochin Corporation's fire warning letters.
The committee will have the district collector, members of the Legal Service Authority and officials of the Pollution Control Board as members.
