Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts can expect isolated heavy rainfall in the day.
Strong, isolated showers are also predicted in certain districts in the next three days too.
A yellow alert has been declared in Idukki, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Malappuram and Kozhikode.
Central India and south peninsula are set to receive above normal rainfall, while north-east and north-west regions are likely to get normal rains.
The Southwest Monsoon set in over Kerala on Sunday, three days ahead of its usual date of June 1.
Earlier, the IMD had forecast onset over Kerala on May 27 with help from remnants of Cyclone Asani that struck the Bay of Bengal a fortnight ago.
The IMD had declared the onset of monsoon over Andaman and Nicobar Islands on May 16.
Advance of the monsoon over Kerala is being continuously monitored, the IMD said.
Meanwhile, the yellow alert for various districts till May 29 has been withdrawn by the IMD.
The weather office has sounded a yellow alert for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki and Kozhikode on Wednesday.
