The launch of director Vinayan's new movie was noted for a couple of revelations about the power tussles within the cinema industry. Speaking at the ‘puja’ of ‘Chalakkudykkaran Changathi’, a movie based on the life of the late Kalabhavan Mani, director Jose Thomas publicly apologized to Vinayan for being a party to a collective decision to boycott Vinayan.
Veteran actress Mallika Sukumaran said her star sons, Prithviraj and Indrajith, owe their career to Vinayan.
An overwhelmed Vinayan took to social media to express his gratitude to the well-wishers and point a finger at his detractors in the industry.
“I was so happy to listen to Mallika chechi and my fellow director and FEFKA leader Jose Thomas during the ‘puja’ of my new movie, ‘Chalakkudykkaran Changathi’.
“I was also pained by the words of Jose Thomas. His revelations that FEFKA leaders and a few prominent persons in the industry joined forces to oust someone from cinema is shameful and painful to Kerala. I feel pity towards directors such as Kamal, Siddique, Sibi Malayil and B Unnikrishnan.
“I feel more excited by the confession of one of them than the Competition Commission’s order against them. Joshiy and Kozhikode Renjith better listen to him. Your leader Unnikrishnan is still demanding technicians to block my latest movie. He is still at it. What a pity!”
