Malayalam superstar Mohanlal literally set the stage on fire with his scintillating performance during the AMMA Mazhavil show on Sunday.Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala capital was in for a treat when celebrated movie actors lined up at the Karyavattom Sports Hub Stadium for 'AMMA Mazhavil' on Sunday. The stars enthralled the packed audience with songs, dances and funny skits.
The audience erupted into a loud applause when Mammootty came on stage to explain the mission behind the show. "This show is being organised to help the artistes in Malayalam cinema. A large collective is behind this show," he said.

The show started with a 'Guru Vandanam' to pay homage to the veterans, including Madhu, G K Pillai, Janardhanan, K R Vijaya, Raghavan, Balachandra Menon, K P A C Lalitha, Poojappura Ravi, T P Madhavan and Sreelatha Namboothiri. Jagathy Sreekumar, Sheela, Kaviyoor Ponnamma and Kanya Bharathi, who could not attend the function, were also honoured.
As many as 120 artistes performed on the 240-feet stage. The segment was led by fresh faces such as Kalidas, Shaheen, Sinil, Malavika, Sherin, Niranjan, Balu, Arjun, Nimisha and Reshma.

Young actor Dulquer joined Mohanlal for a skit during the AMMA Mazhavil show.MMTV director and Malayala Manorama deputy editor Jayant Mammen Mathew, and AMMA president Innocent were also present on stage during the event.
The show was organised by the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) along with Mazhavil Manorama and Malabar Gold.
The much-anticipated event started at 6 pm at the Greenfield International Stadium in KaryavattomA heartwarming welcome song and a spectacular dance item followed. The audience frenzy matched the fireworks organised as part of the show. Mohanlal, Mammootty, Jayaram, Dulquer Salmaan, Siddique, Innocent, Nedumudi Venu, Namitha, Honey Rose and Shamna Kasim performed on stage.
Innocent recited 'Vande Mukunda Hare...' as Nedumudi Venu accompanied him on Edakka. Mohanlal, Dulquer Salmaan and other actors presented a comic skit. Mohanlal returned with a dance number along with Shamna Kasim and Honey Rose.
Jayaram and Siddique performed a skit by Udaya Studio. Dulquer Salmaan’s dance number sizzled the stadium.
Tamil actor Suriya also attended the show as a special invitee.
Suriya told the audience that he was thrilled to attend the show and thanked Mohanlal for inviting him personally. Earlier, he was received at the airport by actor Devan.
Entry was restricted to pass-holders.
