Veteran Malayalam director Lal Jose, known for bringing new faces to Mollywood, is teaming up with Mazhavil Manorama for a talent hunt show, 'Nayika Nayakan', which aims at giving a platform to aspiring actors.

Designed similar to the American television series 'The Voice', 'Nayika Nayakan' will see 16 young talents, coached by two mentors, vying for the top honours. Lal Jose will be the judge and Kunchacko Boban and Samvrutha Sunil will be the mentors.

The first episode of the show was aired on Monday and Lal Jose was seen all excited being part of it. Lal Jose said he was 'really scared and nervous'.

Talking about his expectations, Lal Jose said, “I don't need one more star to arise from this programme. Each of the participants should turn into outstanding performers, good artists.”
