Ramaleela Poster of the movie

Actor Dileep's much-awaited movie Ramaleela has finally hit the screens on Thursday. Ever since Dileep was arrested in connection with the actress attack case, the makers of Ramaleela had been postponing the release of the movie.

Although the movie release is replete with twists and controversies, expectations are sky-high as Janapriyanayakan Dileep, who is known for his comedy entertainers, will be seen in a different avatar in Ramaleela.

The big-budget entertainer directed by Arun Gopy made on an approximate budget of Rs 15 crore by Tomichan Mulakuppadam is having a grand release across the country with 129 theaters in Kerala alone.

Scripted by Sachy, Ramaleela also has Prayaga Martin, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Renji Panicker, Mukesh and Vijayaraghavan in pivotal roles.

Interestingly, after the makers released teasers and posters of the movie, social media was abuzz with the movie's coincidental resemblances to Dileep’s current situation.

There is a scene in the teaser where Dileep says, "Prathi Njanavanam Ennoru Theerumanam Ullathupole... (Seems like it's already decided that I should be the culprit.)"

Similarly, a poster from the movie shows him performing Pithru Tharpanam, which is a Hindu ritual to propitiate departed souls. The poster kickstarted a social media discussion as the actor, who is a remand prisoner, was recently allowed to take part in his father's bali ceremony.
