Admissions would take place based on the first allotment list from 11 am on Friday to 5 pm next Wednesday (August 10). Candidates who have received their first option itself as allotment can secure permanent admission and others who were allotted their lower options can take temporary admission.
For the last 25 years high schools in the State normally have one teacher for 40 students. This ratio of 1:40 is set to be dispensed with, thereby likely rendering several teachers redundant.
Higher secondary Plus-One classes in Kerala will begin on August 25, General Education Minister V Sivankutty announced on Wednesday. The admission procedures will commence on August 5, the Minister informed.
Among the total 4.71 lakh applicants, around 3 lakh are yet to check the allotment list and make changes, if any.
Meanwhile, applicants are allowed to edit the Plus-One application only until 5 pm on 31 July. Many have demanded more time to make up for hassles and delays brought about by the hanging of the server.
The education authorities intend to commence Plus-One classes from August 22.
The government hopes that there won’t be any shortage of seats, like last year, as additional seats have been allowed well in advance in all the districts, except in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Idukki.
The minister also said that the training for the teachers of special schools will be done before the beginning of the academic year.
If the CBSE and ICSE 10th board results aren’t announced by July 18, the students won't be able to apply for Plus one admission in Kerala.
Those who do not have the facilities to apply online could seek help at the nearby higher secondary schools. They can utilize the computer lab facilities there with assistance from the teachers.
